When to Replace

Skylights should be replaced when your new roof is being installed.  Over time the rubber seals around the glass tend to shrink due to the sun’s UV rays and this is the main problem with older skylights leaking.  Today’s shingles and warranties are approximately 50 years and new skylights are the best option to get the most out of your roof.

Velux Skylight and Sun Tunnel Systems are watertight and come with the Velux No Leak Promise. They can reduce electrical consumption and provide privacy and natural light in bathrooms. The Deck Mount Skylights are so energy efficient they already meet or exceed the more stringent 2013 Energy Star guidelines. All Velux skylights are double-glazed and have low E Argon gas blown as a UV protectant.
